SCORR Marketing Obtains Milestone with New, Renovated Space

SCORR Marketing, a strategic marketing and public relations agency focused on market development through marketing communications, corporate identity/branding, media communications, advertising and interactive/Web design, has expanded and remodeled its headquarters to include both the first and second floors of its building at 22nd Street and Central Avenue in Kearney, Neb. BD Construction of Kearney, Neb., one of the Midwest’s leading construction companies, completed the expansion.

“We’re fortunate to have grown over the years to meet client demand,” stated SCORR Marketing President Cinda Orr. “We wanted an office space to reflect our personality and provide us room to expand. After discussing the expansion project with BD Construction, we realized that they understood our vision and that the time was right to make the investment.”

“BD Construction was excellent to work with and created a modern work place to serve our global client base,” added Phil Kozera, vice president of business development and strategy. “We could have considered new construction but we knew downtown Kearney is where we wanted to be. BD embraced the challenge of incorporating modern features to the existing charm of the 1890 building.”

The 3,500-square-foot main floor remodel included the addition of a heating and cooling system, a restroom, offices, two conference rooms and the replacement of the first floor windows for greater energy efficiency. The existing brick was mixed with diamond plate accents to reflect the style of the second floor offices, and pops of teal and red colors integrated SCORR Marketing’s new branding.

“The age of the building provided some challenges, but we were up for the task,” stated Mark Benjamin, BD Construction president and chief executive officer (CEO). “The space was designed to ensure that it accommodates SCORR Marketing today and in the future.”

In addition, SCORR Marketing was awarded a Northwestern Energy Funds grant from the Economic Development Council of Buffalo County to restore two south-facing windows of the building.

“The original windows were filled with brick some time ago, and this grant allowed us to return them to their original use and provide natural light and an improved atmosphere for our growing team,” Kozera commented.
