SCORR Marketing and CenterWatch to Present CRO/Sponsor Relationship Perception Survey Results at DIA

(Kearney, NE; June 2, 2015) SCORR Marketing, a global, full-service marketing and communications firm specializing in drug development services, and CenterWatch, a global leader in providing clinical trials information, will unveil the results of a recent survey of contract research organizations (CROs) at the Drug Information Association (DIA) Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. The results provide insight into ways CROs’ relationships with pharmaceutical companies (sponsors) could improve and save costs along the way.

Lea Studer, vice president of marketing communications at SCORR, and Joan Chambers, chief operating officer at CenterWatch, will present “What Contract Research Organizations Value in a Partner” on Monday, June 15, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in room 150A, Level One North.

“There have been numerous studies about what sponsors look for in a CRO, but relatively few that explore the development process from a CRO perspective,” Studer said. “Our market intelligence team worked with CenterWatch to develop the survey and gather input on the RFP process, contracts, shared risk agreements, using third-party vendors, the overall drug development process and more.

“When the survey analysis was complete, we met with our advisory board of key industry thought leaders from companies including Frenova Renal Research, INC Research and Theorem Clinical Research to evaluate the data and discuss opportunities for improvement in the CRO/sponsor partnership,” said Studer. “We found that while the industry is striving for success, it is settling for mediocrity.”

“CenterWatch conducts a bi-annual global investigative site relationship survey whereby sites evaluate their working relationships with sponsors and CROs based on specific attributes”, said Chambers. “The most recent survey was conducted this year, so it is extremely timely for SCORR Marketing and CenterWatch to collaborate on a survey in which CROs evaluate their working relationship with sponsors.”

“In an environment that is competitive in nature with so many mergers and acquisitions, it’s critical to maintain and nurture relationships with all industry stakeholders to ensure accurate, on-time and on-budget clinical trial conduct, as well as a successful patient engagement and experience” said Chambers.

Immediately following the presentation, leaders from industry-leading CROs and sponsors will participate in a panel discussion. After the event, the presentation will be available for download at scorrmarketing.com.
