Phillips County Hospital Schedules Tours, Meetings to Focus on Bond Issue
(Phillipsburg, Kan; Sept. 30, 2014) — Phillips County Hospital, a community-centered medical center with clinics in Phillipsburg and Logan, announces community meetings and public tours to provide information about a new medical facility that will be built if voters approve a bond issue on Nov. 4.
The public is invited to attend any of these community meetings:
7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 6 – Huck Boyd Community Center, Phillipsburg
7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7 – Community Building, Long Island
7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 8 – Dane G. Hansen Memorial Museum, Logan
7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 13 – Community Center, Prairie View
7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 14 – Agra American Legion, Agra/Kirwin
Noon and 6 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 15 – Huck Boyd Community Center, Phillipsburg
Additionally, the public is invited to meet inside the main entrance of the hospital for a guided tour of the hospital during these times:
Mondays at 5:30 p.m. – Oct. 13, 20 and 27
Wednesdays at noon – Oct. 15, 22 and 29
Saturdays at 9 a.m. – Oct. 11, 18 and 25; Nov. 1
Following several updates and renovations over the course of the last 60 years, the current Phillips County Hospital is reaching the end of its functional life. On Nov. 4, voters will decide the future of the current Phillips County Hospital facility. The $25.9 million, 30-year bond would build a new facility at a new location to meet today’s health care regulations and provide the flexibility to implement specialized services and the latest medical technology in years to come.
“To deliver the quality of care and specialized services our communities deserve, the time to build better health care is now,” said David Engel, CEO of the hospital. “These events give voters the chance to see our current challenges, hear plans for the new medical facility and get answers to their questions directly from those involved.”
