Anatomy of a Rebrand #4: Website

It’s amazing, in light of its relatively short history, how central the Web has become to marketing. The first websites — even our first website — were mostly just glorified brochures. Today, the best websites offer precisely the information you’re looking for, sliced and diced just the way you want to see it.

Our new site is now the fourth website design in our nine years. Each design has evolved through trial and error, our company growth and advances in technology to be where is at today. We spent a lot time up front, developing a site map, prioritizing our content and meticulously planning how we want a user to navigate our site. So, on the new SCORR site, you can see the whole SCORR team or view a subset such as the creative team or the account department; you can view our work in different market areas or see what we’ve done in specific types of services; and when you view the creative work, it’s also linked to awards and case histories.

But the technical features aside, what was important to us to accomplish was to keep the look and feel consistent with the Anatomy of SCORR concept and the SCORR Gets You There tagline. The home page features a dynamic slide show that we can keep fresh with new topics and graphics. Because social media such as Twitter and Facebook are a part of our service offering, we demonstrate their use in our own marketing and give them prominent placement on our home page.

The website allowed the fullest expression of the graphics palette and a great deal of care and attention was given to the colors, typography and design elements such as the icons and the grid pattern in the header and in the silhouetted man. Each of these elements also serves to unify the website with our stationery, collateral and other marketing materials.
