Experic Names David Wood as Chairman and CEO

Experic, a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO/CMO) and clinical supply services company serving the pharmaceutical industry, today announced that its board of directors has named David Wood as chairman and chief executive officer.

“We are thrilled to have Dave accept this leadership role at Experic,” said Tom Weller, Experic board member and CEO of Harro Höfliger. “He brings the right mix of industry experience and strategic thinking to help take the company to its next phase of growth.”

Industry veteran Wood brings more than 30 years of diverse experience in life science companies, including contact manufacturing organizations (CMOs). He has led organizations and teams that achieved transformative levels of growth in revenue and profitability at companies including Captek Softgel International, Catalent Pharma Solutions, Cardinal Health PTS and Becton Dickinson.

Wood succeeds Jeffrey McMullen, one of the founders and previous chairman and CEO of Experic. An experienced senior executive, McMullen took the helm of Experic in early 2019 to serve on an interim basis after the untimely passing of the previous executive managing the company.

McMullen added, “As a co-founder and a significant investor in Experic, I am confident that I am leaving the organization in good hands under Dave’s leadership, and combined with our talented management team, Experic will continue to distinguish itself in the industry.”

“I am excited to work with the talented Experic team and impressed with their dedication to serving clients,” said Wood. “Combined with a great facility and capabilities, Experic is an organization that brings expertise and value to its pharmaceutical clients as they race to address the challenges of product development and commercialization.”
