Innovative Patient-centric Technology Subject of Two Upcoming eClinicalHealth Webinars

eClinicalHealth Limited, a technology and consulting company dedicated to providing innovative clinical trial solutions, has announced two upcoming webinars that will provide key information about the use of patients’ personal devices for electronic clinical outcome assessments and also review the methods and successful results of a completely remote clinical trial.

On Sept. 9, eClinicalHealth and ICON will share a validation methodology that can enable patients to use their own electronic devices for electronic clinical outcome assessments (eCOA). During the industrywide webinar, Kai Langel, eClinicalHealth’s co-founder and director of patient solutions, will join presenters from ICON to discuss a device- and vendor-independent eCOA instrument validation methodology that was highlighted this year at the ISPOR annual meeting. To learn how bring-your-own-device (BYOD) methodologies can be deployed to greatly reduce eCOA costs and improve patient convenience in clinical trials, register by contacting sharvey@eclinicalhealth.com.

During the second webinar on Sept. 15, Langel will join Sanofi to discuss remote research study design considerations. They will share results from the successful, 100 percent remote VERKKO study, which resulted in an 18 percent increase in patient compliance and a 22 percent reduction in timelines. The team will also share ideas and best practices about how some of the methodologies used in the VERKKO trial can be applied to almost any traditional trial to improve efficiency and patient-centricity. Register here.

Langel, a pioneer in patient-facing systems for clinical trials, is actively involved in providing guidance to eClinicalHealth’s customers on innovative methods to make it easier and more efficient for sites and patients to participate in clinical trials.

Other presenters:

  • Nadir Ammour, Sanofi’s global head of patients and partners management, manages clinical development programs and develops and implements clinical systems. He designs patient-centric solutions aimed at reducing the burden on trial subjects and clinical investigational staff.
  • Willie Muehlhausen, head of innovation at ICON plc, has more than 17 years of experience with eClinical systems and is recognized as an eCOA subject matter expert in the clinical trial industry.
  • Helen Marson-Smith is a research project manager for ICON specializing in qualitative methodologies. She currently manages projects relating to cognitive debriefing and usability testing of electronic patient reported outcome measures.
